Here are a few of my favorite senior session locations in the St. Croix Valley that photograph beautifully and give us a variety of looks in one session.
Downtown Hudson
Downtown Hudson is one of my favorite spots for seniors who want a fun, modern, and slightly urban feel to their photos.
What makes this location so special is how much variety we get within a short walking distance.
Some of my favorite features here include:
- Colorful walls and textured brick buildings
- Charming downtown streets and alleys
- The Hudson pier and riverfront
- A small beach area along the St. Croix River
Because we have both downtown textures and waterfront views, we can create multiple looks without needing to travel between locations.
This location is perfect for seniors who want a mix of trendy, relaxed, and timeless images.
Cedar Hills Park
Hudson, wi
If you love a natural, dreamy, golden-hour look, Cedar Hills Park is such a beautiful option.
Throughout the summer, the fields fill with wildflowers, tall grasses, and soft greenery, which photograph beautifully in the evening light.
What I love most about this location:
- Open fields that glow at sunset
- Wildflowers during the summer months
- Tall grass and soft textures
- Trees for variety and shade
It creates that effortless, nature-filled look that feels relaxed and timeless.
This location works especially well for seniors who love earthy tones, flowy outfits, and soft natural light.
Golden hour here is absolutely magical.
St. Croix Boom Site Beach
Stillwater, MN
For seniors wanting something a little more unique and adventurous, the Boom Site Beach is such a cool location.
This spot along the St. Croix River has incredible natural textures and dramatic scenery.
Depending on the water level, we may be able to use:
- The large rock wall along the shoreline
- Small cave-like rock formations
- Beautiful driftwood trees
- Sandy beach areas along the river
This location has such a natural, adventurous feel and creates photos that really stand out.
It’s perfect for seniors who want something a little different from a traditional field or downtown setting.
